For all us residents of the Wood River Valley, we already know this is one of the best places in the United States (and really, the Earth) to visit or live. However, it seems that our quaint little town is catching the eyes of people around the country as it was recently features on the "Top 10 Places to Visit in the United States" by USA Today.
If you haven't been to the Sun Valley area yet, this summer is the perfect time. With so many outdoor activities from hiking, biking, fishing and ice skating, there is sure to be something for everyone. Plus, the city center features many cultural experiences from art galleries to fine dining and shopping. In a single day, you can climb peaks just north of town in the Sawtooth Mountains and be back to Ketchum in time for a hearty steak dinner at the Pioneer Saloon.
Sun Valley has recently received the designation of an International Dark Sky community...one of only 11 in the nation. This means that on any given night, the stars are out in full force and not overcome by light pollution. Sit by a fire pit and gaze up into the atmosphere for one of the best views of the Milky Way in the United States.
Once you visit once, we know you will be hooked! Most vacations turn into annual or bi-annual traditions, that then turn into full-time residents.
